Recognized in 2010 by article 225a of the Grand Lodge of Texas, membership in the Major John B. Jones Masonic Rangering Company is open to all Masons in good standing with the Grand Lodge of Texas, A.F. & A.M.

The Company holds an annual meeting. This meeting is normally held on the last Saturday in October. At the annual meeting the Grand Master is inducted into the Company aas a Major and is placed in charge of the Company.

Texas Lodges may join as a Camp. Rising Star Ranger Lodge is Camp #1.
